The site has been “live” (in beta) for over a week now and we’ve made good progress. Most of the artwork has been completed and most of the features have been introduced, tested and fine-tuned. A few of these are:
- A very flexible search engine which lets you search by year, name, genre, publisher, developer, etc. and sort the results by name of year of release. We further intend to add game themes (medieval, futuristic, modern day, fantasy, etc.).
- Play In Browser: many of the games you’ll be able to play right here on the website including save-game support. Feel free to try Commander Keen or Beneath a Steel Sky.
- Improved light boxes for images. Every screenshot can be enlarged despite being very low resolution.
- A rating system per game
- The game layout has been finalized and some game entries have already been added.
Our goal is to finish the feature set and then start adding more games to rebuild the database we had on Abandonia. These initial entries won’t have the full details yet but the main information will be available. It’s important that we verify and check all the information we add. For example we wish to test all included cheats since too many cheats posted online don’t work or only on very specific versions.
Nice stuff Red!
Thank you Lulu 🙂
